How MarWay Began

Our story began in 1977 with a simple idea and a strong commitment to supporting a single physician with reliable, personalized billing assistance. With no formal office and few resources, we set up our first workspace on the back porch of our home. It was far from conventional, but it was where we laid the foundation for something lasting — driven by dedication, accuracy, and a deep sense of responsibility. What started as a small, home-based operation quickly began to grow. We didn’t set out to build a large company — we focused on doing good work, being dependable, and treating each client with care and respect. That approach spoke for itself. Through word of mouth and the strength of relationships, more physicians began to reach out. By 1984, it was clear that we had outgrown the back porch. We took a meaningful step forward and purchased our first office space — a milestone that allowed us to expand and better meet the needs of our growing client base. That office served us well for many years, becoming the heart of our operations and a symbol of our steady growth. In 2006, after more than two decades in that space, we moved once again — this time into a larger office that could accommodate the continued evolution of our business. It was a reflection of how far we’d come from those early days on the porch, while still holding onto the same values that started it all. The path from a single client to a thriving, respected business wasn’t rushed or forced. It unfolded naturally — built on trust, reputation, and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way.

As a family-owned and operated business spanning three generations, we are honored that you have taken the time to learn more about us. We are both proud graduates of Texas A&M University — Wayne, class of ‘74 and Martica, class of ‘75 — and we have built MarWay on the values that reflect our Aggie roots: trust, integrity, and a strong work ethic. We have also been blessed in our personal lives with four wonderful children, three of the finest sons-in-law, an amazing daughter-in-law, and thirteen beautiful grandchildren who keep us grounded and inspired every day. They have built a life centered on family, faith, and their shared Aggie roots while raising their four children. Courtnie has been a valued member of the MarWay team since 1994. As Executive Account Manager, she plays an essential role in building strong client relationships and ensuring operational excellence. Known for her intelligence, integrity, and tireless work ethic, Courtnie brings energy and determination to every task. Her leadership and dedication make her an indispensable part of MarWay’s continued success.

Britnie Halfmann CPC

Britnie Halfmann is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ‘04, and her husband, Shane, is Class of ‘02. Together, they’re raising three wonderful children and are deeply rooted in their Aggie pride and family values. Britnie has been a valued member of the MarWay team since 2006. As Executive Account Manager and a CPC-certified professional, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a personal touch to every client relationship.
